| | | News Section | | | | Tipperary Gardai issue Counterfeit Euro Note Warning! | | | | | | GARDAI are advising members of the public and shop owners in Tipperary to be on the look out for counterfeit €100 notes, which have been in circulation in recent weeks.
Gardai are aware that since March a number of counterfeit notes have been in circulation and presented in retail outlets across the country.
The trend is to purchase a small item with one €100 note and receive approximately €90 in change from the retail outlet.
Gardai have advised members of the public to check the security features of notes if they are presented with one. This counterfeit doesn't have the physical security thread but a printed one instead.
Anyone with information on the matter is asked to contact their local garda station. |
