Counterfeit Banknote Alert: Kildare

According to a report last week by The Leinster Leader, 'Gardaí are warning business owners to be on the lookout for counterfeit €50 notes.'

"Sources say that fast food restaurants and coffee shops in Naas town have been targeted by counterfeiters in recent days. The fake notes are said to be “very good”, and bear the serial number SB 407693539. Business owners are asked to be wary and to examine all €50 notes being handed to them."

Money Point does not recommend that business owners rely solely on counterfeit pens or ultraviolet lights as a means of protecting their business from counterfeit banknotes, as these devices can be easily fooled by good quality counterfeits.
